Meet the Mallinsons Team
Tara, Director
Born and bred in Yorkshire, Tara studied archaeology, and later went on to teach primary school children.
Tara has always had a passion for real ale, and initially pursued brewing as a hobby, experimenting with hop varieties in home brewing.
Tara co-founded the brewery in 2008, initially solely responsible for running Mallinsons Brewing Company for 2 years.
Today, Tara manages the operations of the brewery.
Elaine, Director
Elaine studied economics in Manchester, and then trained to become a Business and IT teacher.
Elaine taught in London for 4 years, and spent 2 years in Kenya teaching with VSO.
Elaine moved to Huddersfield in 2000, and spent 8 years teaching in Yorkshire, before finally being allowed to join the brewery full time with Tara.
Elaine is primarily involved in production and innovation at the brewery.
Nick, Director
Nick Briggs started his working life as a carpenter, and after a successful career in the building industry Nick began to develop a passion for Real Ale.
After experimenting with home brewing (in his sister's shed) Nick realised he was born to brew. He downed his tools and took up a position as assistant brewer at Elland Brewery.
As Nick's skills grew he was made head brewer in 2011. After three years and several awards, including national recognition from CAMRA and SIBA, Nick left Elland Brewery and moved on to Mallinsons Brewing Company.
Nick is primarily involved in production at the brewery.
