Mallinsons Brewing Company!

We are a micro brewery based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

We brew high quality cask conditioned real ales and bottle conditioned beers.

Over the years, we have gained a reputation for producing crisp, clean flavoured hoppy ales. Our speciality is single hopped variety ales. We are redularly trying new hop varieties and blending different hops to create new flavours. We always stock a variety of single hopped beers, as well as semi-regulars and new one-off brews which enable us the explore different hop and malt combinations.

New World Pale

This is a pale blonde beer with a fruity hoppy mango and orange explosive aroma, a hoppy bitter taste from the combination of Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops, and a long dry finish.

This is a golden coloured ale with orange and lemon citrus aroma from the late use of Amarillo and Brewers Gold hops, the taste is fruity and bitter from the use of Perle and Cascade in the earlier brewing stages. A lovely session ale.

Mount Chivo - NEW

This is a light golden ale with a fruity hop aroma, a lovely refreshing bitterness with lemony floral undertones and a lovely gentle bitter finish. It's dangerously drinkable!

Our multi-award winning single hopped beer! Described as: "A very pale ale, brewed using Citra hops. Amazing grapefruit and light mango nose, bitter hoppy citrus taste, with a bitter grapefruit and light passion fruit finish."

It's Back! You can't beat a beer that packs a huge citrus aroma from the use of Citra hops in the fermnting vessel! This pale ale also has a tart citrus hop taste and a long, intensely bitter finish. Omnom indeed!

One of our range of single hopped beers, brewed only using Simcoe hops. Described as "Golden colour with a fruity lightly citrus hop nose, a bitter hoppy taste and a similar finish becoming slightly dry."

Very dark with a mocha coloured head, a roasted malt aroma with vibrant hop tones. The flavour is rich, fruity and hoppy with lots of roast malts. The finish is bitter, dark and dry-ish

20th May - 22nd May 2016: Mini-fest at The Star

The Star pub in Hudds is hosting it's annual Mmmmmm Fest this coming weekend. As well as a host of milds (two of which are ours), we will be proving 6 other dry hopped / pelleted specials for the ocasion. Should be fab!

25th April 2016 - Bar News

Many people of been asking us how things are going with our proposed bar in Huddersfield. After many months of contract negotiation, we were unable to proceed with the proposed premises and are now in negotation for another venue. We will keep you informed on our progress!

29th February 2016 - Key Keg News

We have now started poducing, in house, our very own key kegs. Our first key kegged beer is our single hopped Nelson Sauvin, but this will be followed by Spruce Goose and Beelzebub's Tears. 18th January 2016 - In the Press and in the Manchester Beer Festival

Friday's Examiner reported that we are opening up a Brewery Tap in the Imperial Arcade, Huddersfield. Whilst we hoping that this will happen, we have still yet to exchange contracts on the premises. The bar itself will not be owned by the brewery, and is a different business venture that we are undertaking in partnership with Samantha Smith.

Watch this space for further news.

This week also sees the start of the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival at Manchester Central from the 20th to the 23rd. We will have two beers on at the festival: Sorachi Ace and Simcoe

Huddersfield Oktoberfest - 1st - 3rd October 2015

Next month sees the annual Huddersfield Oktoberfest at the Apna Center in Huddersfield. We'll be showcasing three beers, including one dry hopped special!

21st - 23rd August - Huddersfield Big Screen Weekend

This weekend sees the return of the popular Big Screen weekend in St Georges Square! Our beers will be available at the Star's stall and there will also be bands, food and drink, and of course films!

Thur 6th - Sun 9th August - Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival

Our beers will be available at this years Food and Drink Festival held in St Georges Square in Huddersfield town centre at the Armitage Bridge Club stall!

8th - 12th July 2015 - Star Beer Festival

This week sees the return of the awesome Star Beer Festival, just down the road from us at Folly Hall in Huddersfield. Once again Sam and the team will be providing an exceptional range of hand pumped ales, as well as two festival specials from us. Come along - we'll be there!

15th June 2015 - Big Screen Event

The weekend of Friday June 26th sees the start of Huddersfield first Big Screen Weekend, running from 10am to 9pm each. Movies will be displayed on the big screen in St Georges square with stalls selling food and drink. Our beers will be avaiable from the Star Inn's festival stall.

1st June 2015 - Brewery and Shop Opening Times

Due to staff holidays over the next couple of weeks, the shop and brewery will not always be open to the public. If you need to collect bottles or casks, please contact the brewery on 01484654301 to arrange for collection.

11th May 2015 - General News

Intrepid train travellers can partake of our beers once again now that the Penistone Line Partnership had resumed it's music train service. The trains depart from Huddersfield on selected Mondays at 19.18, calling at all stations to Shellield. Please check on the Penistone Line website for dates.

30th March 2015 - Tour De Yorkshire News

We have just brewed our special beer to celebrate the Tour De Yorkshire which will be heading our way on 1st - 3rd May! This pale and hoppy beer called "Up Hill Down Dale" will be in high demand from many of the pubs on the route, so get your orders in early to avoid disappointment!

Wednesday 18th March - Sunday 22nd March - Star Beer Festival

We love the Star Beer Festival! Over 40 different ales, all hand pumped from the cellar. This time we will be doing two dry hopped specials just for the festival!

Come along and enjoy - it's all happening down at Folly Hall, Lockwood!

26th January - New in the Shop

We have managed to obtain beers from Here Be Monsters, Huddersfield's latest craft brewery. The beers are called "Dark Fury" and "Black Annis" and are available in a Little Shop of Bottles.
