12 October 2009 - Beer Festival Updates

The following festivals will all be stocking some of our beers:

Oxford Beer Festival (15th - 17th October)

New Continental, Preston (15th - 18th October)

"Guess the dry hop" competition winner

Well done to Rob from the Rat and Ratchet for guessing the dry hops used in our two specials at the last Star Beer Festival. Rob's prize was to name a beer, in fact he actually came and helped brew it! Keep an eye out for "Xavier", named after Rob's son.

Mallinson's Beer Festival at the Sportsman (29-31th August 2009)

The Sportsman in Huddersfield is hosting it's very first real ale festival, and we are pleased to have been selected to provide all ten of the beers on offer. Look out for a variety of ales, including some of our regular beers and three one-off specials. Click here for the full beer list.

7th June 2009

We may not have a brewery cat, but we are very proud to be aknowledged in the naming of Malley, daughter to Tizzy at the Star. With such real ale credentials, we expect Malley to soon start formulating recipes. Huge thanks to Steve and Anne for coming up with such a great name!

10th May 2009

We are really pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Star at Folly Hall, our beer is now available at Nawaab's Indian Restaurant on Westgate, Huddersfield. The beer is served through handpumps and the cellar work is done by staff from the Star. So far they have had on Semi-Centurion and at present have on Anno 1.

Things have been really busy lately! Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the last 12 months. We have brewed our first anniversary ale (called Anno1) and more plastic casks are on order. We are now brewing on average one and a half times a week, but this should rise to twice a week in the near future. You can find us at the following beer festivals:

Reading Beer Festival: 30 April - 3 May

Continental Beer Festival, Preston: 30 April - 4 May

Rat and Ratchet Mild Festival: 1-3 May
