12 October 2009 - Beer Festival Updates
The
following festivals will all be stocking some of our beers:
Oxford Beer Festival (15th - 17th
October)
New
Continental, Preston (15th - 18th October)
"Guess the dry hop" competition winner
Well
done to Rob from the Rat and
Ratchet for guessing the dry hops used in our two specials at the last
Star Beer Festival. Rob's prize was to name a beer, in fact he actually
came and helped brew it! Keep an eye out for "Xavier", named after
Rob's son.
Mallinson's Beer Festival at the Sportsman
(29-31th August 2009)
The
Sportsman in Huddersfield is hosting
it's very first real ale festival, and we are pleased to have been
selected to provide all ten of the beers on offer. Look out for a
variety of ales, including some of our regular beers and three one-off

Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival
(13-16th August 2009)

We are very pleased to announce that
the Star Inn will be featuring at this year's Food and Drink Festival
in St George's Square, Huddersfield. Our beers, alongside those from
Goose Eye, will be available throughout the festival as well as some
delicious local food.
29th July 2009
Two
of our beers will be available at
the Yorkshire Day Beer Festival at the Bay Horse, Marygate, York from
30th July - 4th August.
Hazy
Shade of Summer and Harold will be appearing at this years Peterborough Beer Festival on 25th
- 29th August.

Check
out our latest dry hopped specials
at some local festivals in the coming month. First we have the Star
Beer Festival in Folly Hall, Huddersfield (15-19th July). Next check
out Hall Bower Fest (25-26th July).
We
are also hoping to start bottling our beers in the near future - keep
an eye out on these pages for further details!

We
may not have a brewery cat, but we are very proud to be aknowledged in
the naming of Malley,
daughter to Tizzy at the Star. With such real ale credentials, we
expect Malley to soon start formulating recipes. Huge thanks to Steve
and Anne for coming
up with such a great name!

10th May 2009
We
are really pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Star at
Folly Hall, our beer is now available at Nawaab's Indian Restaurant on
Westgate, Huddersfield. The beer is served through handpumps and the
cellar work is done by staff from the Star. So far they have had on
Semi-Centurion and at present have on Anno 1.
6th May 2009
Our
first birthday has been and gone, celebrating this we brewed a beer
called Anno 1, which has sold well round Huddersfield and further
afield.
23rd April 2009
Things have been really busy lately! Thanks
to everyone who has
supported us over the last 12 months. We have brewed our first
anniversary ale (called Anno1) and more plastic casks are on order. We
are now brewing on average one and a half times a week, but this should
rise to twice a week in the near future. You can find us at the

We've won another award! Mallinson's Station
Best Bitter was awarded
the silver prize in the Bitter Category at Rotherham Oakwood Beer
Festival. Thanks to anyone who voted for us!
We were also very pleased to hear that our
two beers at the Star Beer Festival in Huddersfield were the first ones
to run off.

We have updated "Our Beers" to include information
regarding one-off
dry hopped special versions of each beer. Please note: when two or more
dry hopped variations are produced, different hops are used in each
cask to ensure that the beer is unique.

Mallinsons has now increased production from
brewing once a week to
one and a half times per week on average! Many thanks to those
publicans and customers for your continued support!
